WELCOME TO THE TUNDRA, NEW POLAR BEAR!

 This past weekend I traveled to Magnolia, Texas to welcome our newest Polar Bear! Our newest Polar Bear is Shelby Tope! Not only is she my cousin but she is one of my best friends. Shelby just recently graduated from Magnolia West High School in Magnolia, Texas, and will be coming to ONU to double major in our unique 5-year dual Engineering and Theatre program! 

When searching for her forever home only two schools had what she was looking for and those that matched her ideal class size, campus size, and overall campus atmosphere! Her options were ONU and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. During April, Shelby ventured on a long journey to what she did not know would be her home for the next five years to visit campus! I was beyond excited to hear that my best friend had chosen to look at the same university that I attend! A plus to this was I also got to give her a campus tour since I work in admissions! After seeing the campus, visiting with professors, and meeting new students she quickly "fell in love with ONU!"

This past weekend while in Texas I was able to help set up her graduation party and spend time with family while getting the new Polar Bear excited for the fall! I also got to meet a retired MLB player as well! The past five days were filled with lots of laughs, hugs, and memories that will last a lifetime!
